&nbsp; The College was founded as an affiliated college of the University of Gorakhpur  in July, 1957 as the first Degree College of  the Ghazipur district. Now it is affiliated to V.B.S. Purvanchal University, Jaunpur.
              <br />
	&nbsp;The college started with a strength of only 22 students and 5 teaching staff and it has now grown into a multi-faculty college with approximately 7000 students and 117 teaching staff. 
              <br />
	&nbsp;At present, the college has four faculties viz. Arts, Science, Agriculture and Education. 
              <br />
	 &nbsp;The College has well qualified faculty of 117 teaching staff with 94 administrative and 3 technical staff.
              <br />
	 &nbsp;Seventy two faculty members are Ph.D. degree holders. Thirteen books and more than 250 research papers have been published in journals of repute by faculty. 
              <br />
&nbsp; The college was assessed by The National Assessment and Accreditation Council in the year 2006 and is accredited with B++ Grade.

&nbsp; The College has been visited by many great personalities.<br />
&nbsp; The College has produced many eminent students who are spreading the fragrance of the college in   India and also abroad.

Technical Education & Research Institute :

The Technical Education & Research Institute of the college is affiliated to the U.P. Technical University, Lucknow. 
              <br />
              The Institute is   devoted to imparting the professional courses and  prepares the students for the  following degrees:<br />

1.	Master of Computer Application: The college started MCA course in 1994. It was the first college which started offering MCA course beside state funded engineering colleges.<br />
2.	Master of Business Administration:  The college started MBA course in 1998. Presently it is offering MBA degree in following streams:<br />
(i)	Marketing<br />
(ii)	Finance<br />
(iii)	Human Resource, and<br />
(iv)	Information Technology
